Entrata, an AI-driven operating system for multi-family communities, has integrated Nova Credit’s ‘Credit Passport’ to equip property managers with global credit insights, thereby expanding housing access for international renters.

The integration will enhance Entrata’s resident screening platform, called ‘ResidentVerify’, by providing property managers with access to international credit data for rental applicants.

Property managers will be able to evaluate international applicants using their verified credit history from abroad and translated into a format that aligns with US underwriting standards.

The addition of Nova Credit’s ‘Credit Passport’ to ‘ResidentVerify’ will enhance the system’s existing capabilities, including automated workflows, compliance, and fraud protection, by providing access to credit data from 16 countries and more than two billion individuals.

The partnership aims to overcome the issue whereby newcomers to the US struggle to secure housing due to a lack of access to their domestic credit history, which leaves property managers often unable to assess creditworthiness with any accuracy.

“Entrata is committed to making the rental process more accessible and efficient for both property managers and residents,” said Catherine Wong, chief operating officer and chief product officer at Entrata.

“By integrating Nova Credit’s Credit Passport, we’re equipping our customers with yet another powerful tool to make informed leasing decisions, while ensuring that qualified international applicants have fewer barriers due to accessible information.”

Akaash Gupta, partnerships lead at Nova Credit, added: “Too often, gaps in data access prevent qualified applicants from securing housing in their new country.

“We are proud to partner with Entrata on this new offering, which will expand the qualified applicant pool for their clients, while furthering financial inclusion and housing access for newcomers to the US.”

Among the financial institutions already working with credit infrastructure and analytics company Nova Credit are HSBC, American Express, RBC, and Scotiabank.
