Global banks and FIs join speaker line-up at Open Banking Expo UK & Europe

Speakers from the UK and Europe’s largest incumbent banks, building societies, challenger banks and central banks, will be taking part in panel debates, keynotes and fireside chats at Open Banking Expo UK and Europe 2024.

Joining the speaker line-up from the UK’s largest high street banks are Georgious Miltiadous, head of Open Banking delivery, and Hetal Popat, director, Open Banking, both at HSBC, as well as Silvia Alidori, innovation and strategy lead at Lloyds Banking Group.

From NatWest, Tamian Godfrey, market development lead, payments and data, and Stephen Wright, head of regulations and standards, Bank of APIs and Kevin Dearing, head of API commercialisation, are on the speaking roster.

Nationwide Building Society’s Dan Wilson, senior manager, payments strategy and industry will be offering his insights on the Main Stage in a panel debate on Day Two.

Across the two-day event, delegates can expect to hear from more than 150 powerhouse speakers as they offer up their insights, knowledge and experience.

The Payments and Retail Stage will hear from Karen Wall, executive director at JP Morgan and Mastercard’s Bart Willaert, executive vice president, Open Banking – international markets in a session ‘Payments in an Open Banking era’.

Elsewhere on the agenda, visitors to the show will hear from Monzo’s head of payments Andy Sacre and Catherine Berda, group product manager, payments, as well as Chris Higham, head of payments and cards at Secure Trust Bank.

Conrad Ford, chief product and strategy officer at Allica Bank is taking to the Open Banking for Good Stage on Day One to discuss the shift from Open Banking to embedded finance, while Sophie Hossack, head of partnerships at Allica Bank is speaking on a panel debate titled ‘Fuelling SME growth and innovation through Open Banking’ on the Main Stage on Day Two.

Now in its seventh year, Open Banking Expo UK and Europe 2024 will play host to two co-located shows – the Open Finance Show and Smart Data Show, respectively.

The Open Finance Show will host a panel debate that asks, ‘What needs to happen to get Open Finance out of the starting blocks for all?’, with panellists including Gabbie Watkiss, OakNorth Bank’s product director and Kerri-Anne Sproson, senior strategy lead at Skipton Building Society.

Joris Hensen, founder and co-lead of the Deutsche Bank API program at Deutsche Bank will speak as part of the Smart Data Show in a session titled, ‘Sandboxing: Open Data-enabled product innovation brainstorm’.

The Dutch Open Banking adoption journey will be the focus of a presentation from Andre de Groot, supervisory policy, strategy at De Nederlandsche Bank, the central bank of the Netherlands.

During his presentation, de Groot will deliver his insights into data mobility in the Netherlands, and the role of initiatives such as the National Implementation Support Platform.

A panel debate on global Open Banking advancements will hear from speakers representing banks in Mexico, Turkey and the UAE, respectively.

The session will be moderated by Michelle Beyo, founder of Finavator and president of the Open Finance Network of Canada, who will be joined on stage by Alejandro Servin, head of Open Banking at BBVA Mexico, alongside Sinan Imamoğlu, BaaS and Open Banking manager at Turkey-based Aktif Bank and Abdulla Mashal, head of Open Banking at Emirates NBD.
