Modular payment infrastructure provider Mangopay has been chosen by German automotive marketplace mobile.de to improve the car purchasing experience with a tailored payment solution.
By working with Mangopay, German consumers buying or selling a car through mobile.de are able to pay or take payment for their vehicle without having to leave the marketplace, creating a new end-to-end consumer “journey”.
Using Mangopay’s wallet-based payment technology enables individuals buying a car through mobile.de’s marketplace will only see their funds transferred once they have confirmed receipt of the purchase and are happy with the vehicle.
For sellers, Mangopay offers the assurance that the transaction will be made into an account of their choice.
Ajay Bhatia, chief executive officer of mobile.de, said that purchasing a car is one of people’s biggest investments, and therefore requires a “safe” payment solution.
“Therefore mobile.de has launched ‘Safe Pay’ in close cooperation with Mangopay. We are convinced that Safe Pay will drastically improve the user’s car buying journey,” Bhatia added.
Mobile.de is Germany’s largest automotive marketplace, with approximately 1.4 million advertised cars, commercial vehicles and motorcycles, while around 40,000 registered car dealers use the platform, in addition to private customers. It also offers car financing and leasing solutions.
