A Norway-based platform designed to make it easier for sports associations and humanitarian organisations to fundraise, Støtte, has introduced Open Banking through a partnership with Neonomics.
It means that users of Støtte, who are fans and supporters of sport clubs and humanitarian organisations, will be able to pledge micro-donations with every financial transaction they make on the app.
Individuals caan choose to donate any amount from 2 NOK per transaction.
At the end of each week, the accumulated donations will be deducted from their accounts and transferred to the sport clubs they support.
Neonomics connects end users with their transactions across all banks to “map and track” purchases, to simplify how they send financial support to their clubs.
“Support is vital for both sports and humanitarian organisations to continue what they do,” said Jørgen Rangnes, founder of Støtte.
Rangnes founded the company in response to the financial challenges many sports teams and organisations faced during the pandemic, when events were cancelled and sponsorships reduced.
“Our platform enables anyone to contribute effortlessly, ensuring that financial aid is always flowing in to help these organisations thrive. We have worked closely with Neonomics from inception to map out what is possible and are excited to grow this offering together through the power of Open Banking,” said Rangnes.
Christoffer Andvig, chief executive officer of Neonomics, added: “This partnership will greatly enhance the user experience for both donors and organisations, fostering a stronger community of support within Norwegian sports and humanitarian aid.”
In April, Denmark-based investment platform Endavu selected Neonomics to simplify the process of funding investment accounts for Endavu users.
In the same month, Neonomics teamed up with digital consumer product developer Qvik to jointly promote and scale Open Banking services across the Nordics and the UK.
Christoffer Andvig, chief executive officer of Neonomics, is speaking on the Payments and Retail Stage at Open Banking Expo UK & Europe in London this October. Find out more about the speaker line-up and agenda here.
