Open Banking Limited hires Melanie Lazarus as ecosystem engagement director

Open Banking Limited (OBL) has appointed Melanie Lazarus as ecosystem engagement director, with responsibility for engagement strategy with key Open Banking ecosystem partners.

Lazarus started in her new role at OBL yesterday (22 April), having previously worked at Barclaycard Payments as brand and marketing strategy director, where she led the strategic planning for the Barclaycard Payments brand ecosystem.

At OBL, Lazarus will sit on the executive committee and will support OBL’s transition to a future entity.

She will also focus on strengthening OBL’s external relationships and engagement with key partners across the ecosystem through a comprehensive marketing and relationship management strategy.

In a post on LinkedIn, Henk Van Hulle, chief executive officer of OBL, said: “As Ecosystem Engagement Director, Melanie will be overseeing the evolution of the engagement strategy with our partners across the Open Banking ecosystem, including stakeholder relationship management, brand development, thought leadership, digital engagement and customer insights.

“She will also play a pivotal role in supporting OBL’s transition to a future entity.

Lazarus said: “I’m delighted to be joining Open Banking Limited at such a pivotal moment in its journey. As Open Banking continues to evolve, the strength of our ecosystem presence and relationships will be central to our success.”

She added: “I’m excited to bring my experience in brand strategy, organisational transformation and customer engagement to help build a more connected, inclusive and dynamic Open Banking community. It’s a real privilege to be part of this next chapter.”
