Open Banking Expo announces 2024 Awards shortlist

Open Banking Expo is pleased to announce the companies, individuals, partnerships, teams and initiatives that have been shortlisted in the Open Banking Expo Awards 2024. 

In total, Open Banking Expo received more than 100 entries across 13 categories, with 64 companies and 16 individuals making it onto the final shortlist, which can be viewed in full here.

Shortlisted companies will be in with a chance of winning across categories including Best Open Banking Payments Project, Best Customer Experience, Best Open Finance Application, Open Banking for Good and Best App. 

There are three new categories in this year’s Awards, including Best Open Banking Regulatory Initiative, Best Sector Initiative and Best Team. 

Raidiam is headline partner of the Open Banking Expo Awards 2024, which will be hosted by comedian Lucy Porter.

David Beardmore, Open Banking Expo Advisory Board member and co-chair of the judging panel, Open Banking Expo Awards 2024, said: “How time flies! It only seems a short while ago that we were gathered for the 2023 Open Banking Expo Awards, celebrating a fantastic collection of entries and many worthy winners.

“Ruth [Wandhöfer] and I are just as excited for a tremendous selection of entries for this year’s Awards. Once again, the standard is high, with entries reflecting the growing maturity of the Open Banking world and the variety of applications benefiting it brings.”

He added: “We are both really excited for the judging day coming up and selecting the very best entries to be celebrated at the awards evening on 15 October.”

The Women in Open Banking categories – Rising Star and Woman of the Year – have returned for a second year, with the Woman of the Year split into UK & Europe and International, and 16 women shortlisted across all three categories this year.

The winners of the fourth annual Open Banking Expo Awards will be announced at a ceremony on 15 October, after Day One of Open Banking Expo UK & Europe at the Business Design Centre in London.

Kelly Stanley, co-founder of Open Banking Expo and shortlisting judge, added: “The calibre of entries this year has been exceptionally high, leaving our judging panel with a difficult task ahead of them.

“This year, it is notable that the shortlisted companies, partnerships and initiatives demonstrate just how far Open Banking has come, with entries from a wide range of sectors and industries beyond banking and financial services.”

She added: “We’re excited to celebrate these innovators and pioneers at our glittering Awards ceremony on 15 October, and to recognise those inspirational individuals shortlisted in the Women in Open Banking categories, respectively.”

There is no shortlist for the Pioneer Award Individual category, as the winner will be decided by the judges.
