Open Banking provider Ordo has joined UK-based Charity Finance Group (CFG) as a corporate partner, with the aim to broaden access to donations via Open Banking and ensure more funds reach charitable causes.

CFG is a member organisation for charity finance professionals and its community is responsible for managing around one-third of the UK’s entire charity sector income.

Through the corporate partnership, Ordo will support charities by offering features such as QR code donations, through which donors can make seamless and secure contributions directly from their bank accounts.

In a press statement, Ordo and CFG said their collaboration “exemplifies a collective effort to address the pressing challenges in donation management, enhancing the efficiency and accessibility of charitable contributions”.

Using Open Banking technology enables donors to make charitable donations while avoiding the “burden” of traditional fees that often diminish donations.

“This partnership reflects our ongoing commitment to supporting the charitable sector. We are not only simplifying the donation process, but also fostering trust and transparency between donors and charities,” said Fliss Berridge, co-founder and director of Ordo.

“At Ordo, we believe in the power of Open Banking innovation to serve good causes and make a meaningful difference in people’s lives.”

Ordo’s cloud-native platform is able to process payments across a range of sectors and at volume, including collecting payments, issuing refunds, or managing account validation.

Milly Durrant, CFG’s head of membership, added: “At CFG, we are dedicated to empowering charities to maximise their impact through effective financial management. One of the ways we’re doing this is by working and partnering with a range of financial and banking service providers.

“We’re delighted to welcome Ordo into the CFG community where, together, we are committed to driving social change within a financially confident charity sector.”

Earlier this year, Ordo was accepted onto the Crown Commercial Service’s new Open Banking Dynamic Purchasing System (DPS), becoming a trusted provider of Open Banking solutions to the public sector.
