US-based Bluevine, a banking platform that serves as a financial operating system for startups and small businesses, has collaborated with small business accounting platform Xero, providing “a holistic view” of business finances.

The integration means that customers of Bluevine will be able to sync their banking data with Xero, creating greater “collaboration opportunities” for small business owners and accountants in the US.

Bluevine’s accountant ‘dashboard’ gives accountants access to their clients’ Bluevine accounts, facilitating collaboration and financial management.

Through the partnership with Xero, customers of Bluevine will benefit from a “comprehensive solution” for tracking expenses, analysing financial performance and managing cash flow.

Bluevine’s ‘Plus’ and ‘Premier’ customers will receive a six-month free trial of Xero’s accounting software and, in turn, Xero’s customers in the US will access a three-month free trial of Bluevine’s ‘Plus’ or ‘Premier’ banking plans.

A free three-month trial of Xero’s accounting software will be available to Bluevine ‘Standard’ customers.

Kyle Cooper, vice president and general manager of checking and payments at Bluevine, said of the partnership with Xero that it will “simplify financial management for small business owners and their accountants, and unlock value for both groups”.

Vikram Grover, executive general manager, global partnerships at Xero said: “Small businesses thrive when they have access to accurate, real-time financial data at their fingertips.

“Our integration with Bluevine will sync financial data into Xero, giving businesses a clear view of their cash flow so they can make informed decisions that fuel growth.”

Grover added: “We’re providing a holistic view of business finances, empowering small businesses and their advisors with the knowledge they need to succeed.”
