Open Banking payment provider Yaspa has entered a strategic partnership with Playbook Engineering, a UK-based company that provides a global betting platform for the gaming industry.

The collaboration will bring instant bank payment solutions to Playbook’s online betting sites, enabling players to experience “seamless, fast, and secure” payment journeys, driven by Open Banking technology.

By choosing Yaspa as its exclusive real-time payments provider, Playbook Engineering will integrate Pay by Bank for both deposits and withdrawals.

The move comes as Playbook Engineering upgrades its payment infrastructure to align with the growing demand for speed, security, and regulatory compliance in the igaming sector.

Last year, Yaspa was awarded a government grant by national innovation agency, Innovate UK, for its B2B platform that combines payments and AI to help gambling operators identify vulnerable customers.

Luke Cousins, commercial director at Playbook Engineering, emphasised the importance of selecting a partner that could support Playbook’s vision of innovation and also deliver a “user-friendly” experience.

“Yaspa stood out as a leader in Open Banking and igaming payments,” said Cousins.

“Their expertise, coupled with their innovative approach to compliance and safer gambling, made them the perfect fit. We’re excited to bring these benefits to our operators and players.”

James Neville, chief executive officer of Yaspa, shared similar sentiments, highlighting the shared commitment between both companies to advancing the igaming industry.

“By integrating Open Banking payments into its platform, Playbook is paving the way for faster settlements, greater transparency, and an unparalleled user experience.

“Together, we’re raising the bar for what igaming payments should look like,” Neville added.
