Its partnership with PayPoint commenced in 2023 to provide Open Banking based affordability and alternative credit referencing solutions for their clients. Together the organizations developed the Financial Information System (FIS) Customer Support Tool.

The move also saw PayPoint invest £1million in AperiData, building on an existing commercial partnership between the two companies delivering Open Banking solutions for clients across multiple sectors, including government, local authorities, charities, and housing associations.

AperiData wins Business Partnership of the Year at The Credit & Collections Industry Awards

AperiData’s work with PayPoint and Citizens Advice Bureau Stevenage in using Open Banking to streamline debt advice support was recognised as the Business Partnership of the Year award at The Credit & Collections Industry Awards.

“This award is a huge win for the application of our technology to create real change in communities,” said Andrew Bonsall, COO at AperiData.

Citizens Advice supported nearly half a million people with free, confidential advice in 2024, more than double the previous year. Tougher economic conditions contribute to increasing demand for debt and money management support.

“To address this, we developed the Financial Information System (FIS) Customer Support Tool alongside PayPoint, and successfully piloted by Citizens Advice Stevenage," said Bonsall. “This saves over two hours of time per client supported and reduces attrition by over 50%, freeing advisers up more to support people for longer term sustainability.”
